22A MU2 – Decision Services in French and Spanish

In case you missed it the second monthly update to 22A was released on 13 April 2022. Whilst many were preparing for Easter, Oracle was pushing out quite an important update. There are three main areas that have received attention and this is the first article about those areas, so let’s start with the news about Decision Services.

If you write Oracle Policy Modeling rules in French or Spanish, and have been implementing Decision Services, up until now it has been the case that you had to write the rules in English, irrespective of your Oracle Policy Modeling language and region. This led to some interesting mismashes of Frenglish or Espangles to get the Decision Service to even look remotely like a document written for a French or Spanish audience. And the characters (accents, quote marks etc) that are different in these languages didn’t work either. Well, starting from now, the situation has massively improved with the arrival of these two languages. Coupled with the already available UI option to display in French or Spanish, now the entire process can be immersive:

Decision Service in French with French UI

And in Spanish as well:

Decision Service in Spanish with Spanish UI

The rule author has now access, via the Actions menu of the Decision Service view, to a dialog to change the language and a variety of formatting options:

Spanish Dialog for Language Options in Decision Services

These new options liberate customers from the English requirement and will further encourage new entrants to investigate the powerful use cases for Decision Services. If you are not quite sure what Decision Services are, what they might be used for and how you can work with them, check out our new training Course available with a 25% discount for a limited time: Introduction to Decision Services Online Training.

Monthly Update 2 has a couple of other aces up it’s sleeves, so watch this space for another article later this week about the other new features.
