Recently weve been spending quite some time looking at and helping the Koltevate team with their great new SaaS connector for Salesforce. In the previous posts and videos we’ve seen how to install and sete up an initial interview in Salesforce. In this next installment we’re going to show how easy it is to use Oracle Intelligent Advisor in Experience sites like customer portals.
We’ll also take a look at a couple of cool features that make that happen and how you can get live feedback even in design-time. All of these features make it easier to deliver the business value of Oracle Intelligent Advisor without having to spend time and money doing technical things that frankly should not be your problem – you’ve got Oracle Intelligent Advisor, you’ve got Salesforce, so why should it be any harder than integration Oracle Intelligent Advisor with Oracle Service Cloud or Engagement Cloud or Siebel?

Let’s look at a couple of things where Sofia makes it easy for you
- Context
Any interview that maps to Salesforce data in an application needs context. For example if you map to Account as the parent, then you are going to load Account (and of course lots of child data, potentially) into the interview. So you pass an Account Id into the interview. The Sofia SaaS solution does all that for you – for most situations you don’t have to specify anything, the Web Component automatically picks up the “current context” from the page you are placing the interview on.
But that is not always the case. Consider a Community Portal. There are pages where the context is not necessarily helpful. For example on the Home Page of the portal, the concept of context is not so useful. So the Sofia integration lets us specify to override the context with a specific record type, to drive the interview.
2. Real-time debugging feedback
When you are positioning the interview Web Component in Salesforce, you need real-time visual feedback to see if the interview is working correctly. You also need to be able to get Load or Save debugging information within the interview. So the Sofia integration provides all three – a live preview of the interview even in design-time, and special mappable debugging attributes for Load and Save error messages. So you can see if there is a problem, before it becomes a real problem.
All this and more is shown in this video, which you can also find on our Youtube Channel of course.
