Using an Error Rule in Entity Instances to trap duplicates
This Oracle Intelligent Advisor forum post asks how to avoid letting a user create two different instances that have the same date. It involves self-referential relationships and an alias, and in the solution we offer two different approaches – one to provide an error message and another to simply stop the user creating the duplicates!
Here is the second example, which uses the fact that InferInstance() will not create two instances if the identifier of the instance is the same. In this case, the date is used as the identifier.
