We’ve been really overwhelmed by the takeup of our learning modules for beginners. They have proven very popular. But we don’t want to neglect the people who are already active with Intelligent Advisor, and who are looking to skill up. So we just released a new Temporal Reasoning course.
There is so much that can be said about using it in Oracle Intelligent Advisor. It is a subject that frankly seems to be both admired and feared by so many. Part of the issue I think is the way it is sometimes presented as something special, or dangerous, or just downright weird.
But of course it is none of the above. Temporal reasoning is a powerful feature that really makes Intelligent Advisor stand out from the competition. In a world where everything is time sensitive and where logic can give you different correct answers on different days, temporal logic is a must have concept.
So the intelligent-advisor.com team have put together a module dedicated to time-based reasoning. It lasts 60 minutes and has a number of demonstration videos as well as a series of presentation slides. In addition to the videos and the slides, you can also use the example files shown in the videos as they are available for download as well, as part of the online learning package. It’s available in the shop at a very reasonable price.
The Temporal Reasoning class starts simply and builds on various examples (benefits, bank statements, personal circumstances) to leverage and demonstrate the different categories of function that you can use in time-based reasoning. The final example looks at complex scenarios such as creating chronologies and finding values for example a benefit amount paid based on the payment scale of the previous month (n-1). These are also included in the downloadable zips.
Links are provided to both Oracle Intelligent Advisor documentation and also relevant articles and materials on this website.

The temporal reasoning classis available from the Intelligent Advisor Shop and is the newest addition to the Intelligent-Advisor.com Online Academy which currently has 23 modules available, of which 6 are absolutely free. Here is the class description in detail :
