The Example Projects for Oracle Intelligent Advisor Series 2022 : Healthy Eating

So here we are, already at the next article in this Example Project series. This week we will look at the Healthy Eating project.

This is the 9th Example Project in the set provided with Oracle Policy Modeling. The Healthy Eating Example Project is an excellent source of ideas and inspiration for your own learning or demonstrations. There is a video demonstration at the end of this article.

So let’s get into the Healthy Eating Example Project:

Time needed: 20 minutes.

How to use the Healthy Eating Project in Oracle Intelligent Advisor

  1. How to use the Healthy Eating Project

Enter details about your family and how much they consume of various food types. Get some good advice as to how to make changes to become a healthier family. Download documentation to assist you in understanding how to improve. Easy!

  2. What does the Healthy Eating Project demonstrate

This project demonstrates a very nice medical / healthcare scenario where data gathered is used to produce valuable healthy eating advice for a family. Aside from being a really familiar format and a great starting point – let’s face it we could use the same principle for just about any public health, COVID, exercise, or mental health promotion scenario. Plus the project has some very nice Oracle Analytics Publisher Templates showing how to provide the advice in PDF or other format.

  3. Adaptation Ideas for Healthy Eating

This project is bursting with areas ripe for extension. Firstly the business logic can be extended, using the Entity and Entity Functions just like we discuss in the video, and of course you can use Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop to create or modify the Forms that are present in the Project, and if you really want to go further then there are many different areas where you can add User Experience extensions. In the video we look at three – radio buttons using, for example, Font Awesome icons, a chart that appears magically as you enter data, and a custom Entity Collect if you want to really go all in.

  4. Upsides and Downsides

This is a great example project – simple to understand and simple to extend. The underlying principles of scoring, assessing and presenting advice is one that could apply to many different industries.
