Whats New in Intelligent Advisor 20D – Monthly Update

In what is likely to be the last post on this site of the incredibly hard, weird and just plain nasty 2020, we are going to look at some of the new features that are part of the final release of Intelligent Advisor 2020, and even some that crept into the monthly update release. So for reference, this post is based on the 20D release known as 12.2.21. 497. As you recall we already covered one of the major functionalities released in the first instance.

The first item on our list is actually an early Christmas present – both this site and Intelligent Advisor Guru Emerita Jasmine Lee, not to mention quite a few other people from the Intelligent Advisor community (I’m thinking of Jeff G) have been waiting for this for a long time. It is the ability to customize the Form Download through an extension in 20D.

mount: function (el) {
					console.log("Starting customForm Mount");
					const screen = interview.currentScreen();
					if (screen.hasNextButton()) {
						button = document.createElement("div");
						button.onclick = function (evt) {

							$('<div id="newDialogText"> File Name : ' + control.getFileName() + '</br></br> File Type :' + control.getMimeType() + '</br></br></div>').dialog();
							control.click();
							evt.preventDefault();
						}
						var myButton = makeButton(button, screen, interview, el);
						el.appendChild(myButton);
					}
					console.log("Ending customForm Mount");
				}

As the code snippet above shows you can now access the different properties of the Form (name, mime type) and deliver the file according to the settings of the Form Control in the 20D Interview with the click() method. Not bad at all:

So this new extension allows the developer to customize the 20D Form download experience by changing the traditional link (shown above for comparison) into any HTML tag – in the above example, a huge blue button – and by accessing the different properties for whatever interesting purpose (perhaps adding them to a Web Service call, saving them in the Interview or something else.

The second thing that we planned to show you in this post is the availability of the Redwood theme in a 20D Interview, however this does not appear to work properly yet. See this post in the official Intelligent Advisor Forum. Instead it looks white and does not work.

Still I am sure it will be fixed soon enough. Have a great holiday and see you soon on intelligent-advisor.com.
