What’s new in Intelligent Advisor 21A

The new release of Intelligent Advisor, namely 21A or in more detail “ – Thursday, 04 February 2021 01:32” was pushed to some demo instances this week. So it is important for us to keep abreast of any new features or functionality – such is the duty of the Intelligent Advisor rule author or consultant. Historical data on this subject is also available.

This release is a (so far – remember that there will be monthly updates to come) quiet one with only two items in the What’s New section of the online help. let’s take a look at what’s new in Intelligent Advisor 21A:

The REST API on the Hub administration side has been enhanced to include the ability to reach the Message Log. This is a long awaited enhancement because without some sort of programmatic access to this message log, it becomes hard to automate any kind of tracing of issue. The REST API allows for a single parameter “q” (Alias Query) to filter the results using error codes or a variety of other criteria. Users will recall that Error Codes use prefixes that are similar to OPA-EXT or OPA-GIP or OPA-DATA (I’m sure you get the idea). A fuller list of the typical prefixes can be found here in the online help. If you need more detail, you can also find lists of errors in the online help such as this one for the OPA-DATA error codes.

The URI would look like “https://XXXXXXXX/opa-hub/api/{version}/message-log-entries. Version would need to be at least 12.2.22, the first version where it is available, assuming you use the version attribute, or “latest”.

It is also possible to extract a single message log entry : using the similarly formatted “/message-log-entries/{log-entry-id}”

The second item on the what’s new in 21A list is the ability in CX Sales and B2B Service to associate attachments with custom objects as well as standard ones, which is an important enhancement. Welcome, 21A!
